Most integral or attached garage conversions fall under permitted development, so planning permission is often not needed. You do need Building Regulations approval. Conservation areas, listed buildings and some new-build estates may need planning permission. We check this with Swale Borough Council before any work starts.
A typical single garage conversion takes around 3 to 5 weeks on site once approvals are in place. Double or detached garages take longer.
Most single storey rear extensions take around 10 to 16 weeks on site, depending on size, groundworks and the kitchen or glazing package.
